Ordinary footwear with rubber, vinyl, TPR rubber, or polyether PU soles will decompose in a municipal landfill in about 1,000 years.
If the upper of the shoe is made of synthetic materials, the decomposition of the shoe will take even longer. So far, the only exception to the mass-produced sole materials is reactive polyester polyurethane, which due to microbes and moulds can decompose in about 25 years.
Our biodegradable footwear is made only of such biodegradable materials - polyurethane skeleton, sandwich part, degradable foam latex, cotton and linen insole, bio heel material, and only natural cow, goat, and sheep leather.
